Complementa was founded in 1984 as Switzerland's first independent investment controller and performance measurer. It was born out of the vision of supporting pension funds in their core task of financial management. Using state-of-the-art tools and highly trained and experienced staff, we provide pension funds with personalized advice, free from conflicts of interest, from strategy development to implementation monitoring.

Multi-custody services
With our service, you combine high-quality, professional information provision with the advantages of a multi-custody setup, particularly by avoiding excessive dependencies, maintaining flexibility and negotiation leverage, reducing counterparty risks, and providing cost-effective or even free custody solutions.
ALM study
We analyze possible adjustments, such as changes to the portfolio, financing and performance parameters, and scenario analyses regarding the risk profile of the pension portfolio or the impact of a participation model. Strategy optimization takes into account the risk budget, the non-normal distribution of returns, and non-linear dependencies between investment categories. Further assessment includes, among other things, stress tests, the decomposition of risk and performance drivers, and the analysis of risk factors.
Risk Monitor
Risks and dependencies are not constant over time. Deviations of the portfolio from the strategy and fluctuations in the volatility of risk factors lead to shifts in investment risk. Our Risk Monitor serves as a monitoring tool and decision-making basis: We examine the extent to which the current investment risk is consistent with the strategic guidelines and analyze the reasons for deviations (e.g., portfolio management or market fluctuations).
Risk Check-up & Complementa Pension Fund Study
The largest independent pension fund study will be conducted for the 31st time in 2025. All participating pension funds receive a free, personalized evaluation with basic risk assessments and comparisons with 450 other pension funds (> 810 billion).
